TWO CHARGED AFTER POLICE FIRE AT A STOLEN CAR

Broadway Station officers reported firing at a stolen car that nearly ran down several officers on Sweet Street Saturday night.

Police said a single shot was fired at a tire of the car near 194 Sweet St. at 9 p.m. Saturday.

Steffon Sanders, 18, of 37 Empire St. and Jacqueline Y. Doughty, 27, of 920 Kensington Ave. were stopped on charges of operating a 1997 car that had been stolen in Prince William County, Va.

Police charged Sanders and Doughty with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and Doughty with criminal possession of stolen property.

A third suspect, identified as Anthony Lipscomb, escaped by running from the station house, police said.
