Mary R. Patterson, a retired nurse, died Saturday (July 19, 1997) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness. She was 76.

Ms. Patterson, a native of Kenmore, graduated from Riverside High School in 1939. She worked as a nurse in the intensive-care unit at Kenmore Mercy Hospital for 27 years before retiring in 1991. She also was in charge of volunteers at the hospital.

Ms. Patterson, a Clarence resident, volunteered at Holy Family Home in Amherst. She was a member of the Suburban Serenaders at Kenmore West High School and enjoyed traveling, nature, animals and caring for others.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Michel of Williamsville; three sisters, Jean Redden of the Town of Tonawanda, Genivieve Donnelly of Amherst and Lois Fetes of Ransomville; and a brother, William Patterson of Wilson.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 565 East Park Drive, Town of Tonawanda. (haarlander)
