Hours after a 6-year-old boy was killed by a car in the Bronx, an 8-year-old boy was killed by a car in Brooklyn.
Jeffery Leon was pronounced dead Saturday evening in Kings County Hospital, according to a police spokeswoman, Officer Noreen Murray.
The child jumped in front of a double-parked garbage truck and was hit by a passenger car coming down the street in Crown Heights, Officer Murray said.
The driver remained on the scene until police arrived. Officers said it was an accident and did not charge the driver, whose name was not released.
Earlier Saturday, a car hit Turner Soloway as he crossed Hudson Manor Terrace in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Allen Pavilion Hospital, a division of the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in Manhattan, said Detective Robert Price, a department spokesman.
