Phyllis H. Reese, 71, of Lake Road, a retired certified professional secretary who had worked for several Niagara County departments, died Tuesday (Oct. 29, 1996) in her home after a lengthy illness.
A native of Lockport, the former Phyllis Haley retired in 1979 after working in the offices of the county attorney, the public defender and the Industrial Development Agency.
She also had worked until 1988 for General Electric Co. in Windsor, Conn.
She had served as president of the Lockport chapter of the National Secretaries Association.
At one time, she taught business courses for the adult education program of Starpoint Central School.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Lockport, and Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
The widow of John J. Lardner and Fred E. Oliver, she also was a member of the Lockport Senior Citizens.
She attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute and Canisius College in Buffalo.
Surviving are her husband, Garland W.; a daughter, Maureen Cervoni of Lockport; two brothers, Paul Haley of Olcott and David Haley of Lockport; a sister, Jule Callahan of Lockport; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Patrick's Church, 76 Church St., Lockport. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lockport.
