Chautauqua County will begin several projects next month under Phase II of its plans to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The total cost of the construction is estimated at under $80,000. That would include work on the Gerace Office Building and the County Courthouse in Mayville, the Agricultural Center near the airport, the County Home in Dunkirk, and the DiRusso Building on Lucas Avenue in Dunkirk.

Work will include modifying doors, hardware, elevators and restrooms. Two courtrooms will also be equipped with listening devices to accommodate jurors with hearing disabilities. Access to all of the facilities will be maintained during construction.
