A power failure knocked WIVB-TV off the air temporarily at 10:42 a.m. today, according to Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. officials.
The cause was unknown, but power was restored after 35 minutes, said Chris Musial, the station's news director.
"Everything just went dark," he said. "We're trying to determine what caused it."
About 200 customers were without power because of a malfunction in an underground cable beneath Elmwood Avenue, utility officials said.
