Four Western New York figure skating clubs will send a total of 50 skaters to the North Atlantic Figure Skating Championships Wednesday through Saturday in Lake Placid. Winners of the qualifying regional competition will advance to the Eastern Championships in Hicksville, Dec. 4-9. Winners there can advance to the U.S. championships Feb. 8-16 in Nashville and the Junior Olympic championships, April 19-23 in Culver City, Calif.
Competitors, all in the ladies divisions unless otherwise noted, are:

Dave Frederico's 92-yard kickoff return at the start of overtime led the Lockport Invaders (8-3) to a 13-7 win over the Syracuse Storm (9-2) in the first round of the National Minor League Football playoffs last weekend. A 42-yard interception return by Chuck Mahoney provided the other Lockport score. The Invaders next face Meriden, Conn., for the Northeast championship.
