BUFFALO WOMAN SENTENCED IN SEPARATE THEFTS

A Buffalo woman was sentenced to 15 months in jail by Cheektowaga Justice Thomas Kolbert for stealing merchandise on two separate occasions.

Dawn D'Andrea, 33, of Dearborn Street was arrested by Cheektowaga police May 21 at the Tops supermarket on Union Road in connection with the theft of $266 in merchandise, court officials said. She also was wanted on a warrant charging her with stealing $45 worth of merchandise from Lord & Taylor at the Walden Galleria mall in April.

Ms. D'Andrea pleaded guilty to petit larceny in connection with the April incident and received a year in jail. She pleaded guilty to attempted petit larceny for the Tops incident and received an additional 90 days.

Kolbert also sentenced:

Phyllis Robinson, 40, of North Pearl Street, Buffalo, to a year in jail for violating terms of her three-year probation. Ms. Robinson violated probation when she was convicted of petit larceny Sept. 16 in Buffalo City Court.

Kevin Burns, 34, of Shirley Avenue, Buffalo, to 90 days in the Erie County Correctional Facility after he pleaded guilty to attempted petit larceny. Burns took 11 packs of cigarettes from the Yellow Goose convenience store on Genesee Street in August, court officials said.

Mark Freeman of Thomas Avenue, Batavia, to 90 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to attempted petit larceny. Freeman drove off with $14.23 worth of gasoline from the Mobil station on Genesee Street in September.
