PARENTS TO BE APPRISED OF GOALS FOR SCHOOL YEAR

Goals for the school year in English, mathematics, science and social studies will be sent to parents of all students in city schools with report cards to be mailed on or about Nov. 15.

The mailing will provide curriculum objectives in the core-area subjects for all students from kindergarten through 12th grade, said Arthur McDonald, assistant superintendent for
instruction.

The report cards for pupils in kindergarten through second grade will have new information indicating whether the pupil is reading and writing at, below or above the standard expected for pupils at the same level. An individualized report will inform parents what skills the teacher will be working with their child on during the next 10 weeks.
