When I watched the Bills lose to Miami Sunday, I remembered what Jim Kelly said in a Buffalo News article a few days before the game. He said he was going to put all of his poor performances behind him and resume the season with a clean slate.
Well, that didn't happen. He still looked like the old Jim Kelly who got blasted in Pittsburgh before his injury. Whether he blames his poor performance on the injury or not, I think he's washed up and should turn the reigns over to Todd Collins. Collins has everything that Kelly no longer possesses: youth, agility and probably a stronger, more accurate arm. He also isn't as beat up.
I don't think Kelly has it in him to lead Buffalo into any more Super Bowls. I know it's a hard thing to accept, Jim, being the dedicated and fierce competitor that you are, but you've got to wake up to reality. You are no longer that great quarterback you were five years ago. I don't think it's going to get any better unless there's a miracle.
