Owen B. Muir, 80, of Porter Road, manager of the former Treadway Inn on Buffalo Avenue, died Saturday (Oct. 19, 1996) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, following a long illness.
He was born in Cincinnati and moved to Niagara Falls as a young man.
He was a hotel manager for the Treadway Inn here and across the East Coast for many years.
He also worked as a desk clerk at the Hotel Niagara for 25 years.
During World War II, he served in the Army as a corporal with the 395th Military Police Escort Guard Company. He also served as a rifle marksman in the African-Middle Eastern Theater.
Muir was a member of St. Mary of the Cataract Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
His wife, the former Genevieve S. Mardon, died in 1992.
Survivors include a brother, Leslie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth St., after prayers at 9 in the Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, Lewiston.
