Two people suspected of selling drugs led police on a high-speed chase early Saturday through the West Side and then fought with officers who stopped their car, police said.

Undercover detectives said they purchased suspected crack cocaine, worth $20, from the two on Niagara Street. But the two fled when police tried to arrest them. After a chase involving several police cars, the their vehicle was stopped on Auburn Avenue.

Daniel J. DeGrasse, 37, of 2485 Niagara and Molly McMahon, 34, of North Ridgeway, Ont., were charged with drug possession and sale, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment. DeGrasse also was charged with numerous traffic offenses.
