TROUBLED ATHLETE PAID FOR CRIMES; LET HIM PLAY

As a parent of someone who attends Lackawanna High School, I felt I had to respond to the article headlined "Controversial athlete back on the football field after jail." Why not? Deron Adams did make mistakes, like many young people and adults have, and Deron paid the price.

Are we not grown up enough in this society to give young people a chance to get back on the right track? Did we all grow up without ever doing anything wrong? Deron has proven himself in our high school. He is keeping up with his studies and getting along with his peers and teachers. If playing football helps him in this endeavor, why not give him a chance?

We have great teen-agers in our city and school, and if Deron Adams can join them, I say, "Let's welcome him back and play ball!"
