MAN HIT WITH BASEBALL BAT HAS EMERGENCY SURGERY

A man who was assaulted with a baseball bat took a turn for the worse and was rushed into surgery late Tuesday in Buffalo General Hospital, police said.

David Torke was attacked by two men earlier in the evening at 41 Woltz Ave. in what was described as a landlord-tenant dispute, according to Broadway Station police.

Torke was able to talk to officers after the attack, but subsequently required brain surgery for head trauma. His condition was unavailable.

Officers said the victim was unable to identify his assailants because of memory loss suffered in the attack.
