JAMESTOWN -- Chautauqua County may be getting closer to a countywide bus system.
The chairman of Jamestown's Municipal Transit Commission, Wyman Ansley, said the panel learned Thursday a request for proposals should be issued within a month. The package is being put together by a Rural Public Transportation Coordination Assistance Program committee.
The plan has been discussed over the past year. Ansley hopes the process will move quickly.
Plans call for of the merger of the Jamestown Area Regional Transit System, Chautauqua Area Rural Transportation System, and the Dunkirk bus system.
