NIAGARA FALLS POLICE CALLS THURSDAY

4 -- 21st Street and Whitney Avenue, harassment. A 13-year-old boy said a youth punched him in the mouth on the way home from school.

4:15 -- 1135 1/2 Linwood Ave., burglary. Janice A. Mease said her videocassette recorder was taken and a ladder was found underneath her living room window.

4:32 -- 629 25th St., petit larceny. Joseph Orsi said his short-haired retriever was taken.

7:40 -- 201 Rainbow Blvd., Days Inn parking lot, criminal mischief and larceny. Gail Violante said her car's windshield and side window were broken and items including a cellular phone, sneakers and school books were stolen.

8:03 -- 423 Elmwood Ave., attempted burglary. Eleanor C. Gratto said her garage door was damaged in an apparent break-in attempt.

8:15 -- 133 24th St., arrest. James L. Garrow, 40, of Mackenna Avenue, charged with disorderly conduct.

9:40 -- 745 West Market St., arrest. Christine M. Palmer, 28, of Sy Road, Wheatfield, charged with prostitution.

9:45 -- 20th Street and Center Avenue, arrest. Daniel L. Parker, 30, of Hyde Park Boulevard, charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, parking in the wrong direction and failure to keep right.

10:45 -- 1401 Falls St., arrest. Joyce A. Tice, 32, of Falls Street, charged with prostitution.

11:55 -- 15th Street and Pierce Avenue, assault. Arnold Crittendon said a man in a truck with two other men inside drove by and sprayed him with mace, irritating his eyes.

12:15 -- 460 Third St., arrests. Victor Steflja, 23, of St. Catharines, Ont., charged with disorderly conduct, and Robert M. Kukla, 22, of St. Catharines, charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

12:35 -- 1776 Falls St., theft of services. A United Cab driver said a man left without paying a fare of $15.

4:15 -- 4000 block of Glenn Street, arrest. Brandon L. Jacobs, 19, of Crescent Drive, charged with attempted burglary, criminal trespassing, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and failure to pay a surcharge after police said he and a youth unscrewed sensor lights at 4004 Carroll Street and tried to pry open a window and garage door.

6:34 -- 2914 Michigan Ave., burglary. Vincent D. Reisch said a girl pushed open his kitchen window and took four blank checks and his jeans jacket.

7:06 -- 511 Seventh St., burglary. Ben F. Jordan said his apartment window was opened and his stereo was taken.

8 -- 400 block of 18th Street, harassment. A woman said a man pulled up in his car and threatened to kill her.

8:50 -- 2442 Michigan Ave., burglary. Paul McMahon said his garage door panel was kicked in overnight and a baseball bat, glove and weed trimmer were taken.

9:06 -- 53rd Street, city dock, criminal mischief. Jerry Broeker said someone smashed all the windows on a boat, threw around the life preservers and took a cover plate on the motor.

10:45 -- 1056 Ontario Ave., F & M Deli, burglary. Ferby C. Everett said someone took $700 worth of cigarettes, $100 in lottery tickets and $100 in meats from the store sometime overnight after the rear door was broken open.

11:37 -- 1653 98th St., robbery. Johnnie J. Jackson said a man took his gold ring by squeezing his hand and pulling it off of his finger.

11:50 -- 520 Hyde Park Blvd., Public Safety Building, arrest. Rhyan O. Stewart, 22, of Garden Avenue, charged with failure to appear.

12:15 -- 520 Hyde Park Blvd., arrest. Daniel J. Pierson, 20, of Baldwinsville, charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding.

12:35 -- 7436 Buffalo Ave., LaSalle Middle School, larceny. Laurie M. Colosi said her purse with $60, seven credit cards and a bank card was taken from her locker.

1 -- 1124 Linwood Ave., burglary. LaQuita Walker said someone entered her apartment through the kitchen window and took her stereo system.

2:20 -- 816 Morley Ave., larceny. John A. Havens said items including sunglasses, leather jacket, and radar detector were taken from his car overnight.
