LOCALS IN THE SWIM AT EASTERNS

Western New York has sent a contingent of 25 to the Eastern Zone All-Star Swimming Championships that will run through Saturday at Princeton University in New Jersey.

The meet is the end of the short-course season, and it has drawn competitors from Maine to Virginia.

Among the top local qualifiers are Allie Dean of Sweet Home Aquatic, Jamie Garcia of Sweet Home Aquatics, Pat Quinlen of the Town of Tonawanda Titans, Matt Stone of the Town Wrecker Swim Team and Jen Broderick of Sweet Home Aquatics.

South Towns Aquatic Racers has 39 swimmers at the National Age Group Championships, which will also run through Saturday at the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center at ECC City Campus.

Participants had to attain national qualifying times for their age group (10-under, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-over) in individual events or as part of a relay.

Prelims begin at 8:30 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m. each day. More than 1,000
