CONSULTANTS TO ANALYZE POLICE COMPUTER NEEDS

The Cheektowaga Police Department is the next stop for Computer Task Group's ongoing analysis of the Town of Cheektowaga's computer needs.

Consultants from Computer Task Group were hired more than a year ago to analyze the town's computer systems and recommend how the town could coordinate its computer services among departments more efficiently.

The consultants are now ready to take that analysis to another level by going into each town department to determine their needs and recommend how they might do things better.

Computer Task Group had wanted to start the process in a smaller department like the town clerk's office, but the Town Board in a work session this week asked the consultants to start in the Police Department.

Supervisor Dennis H. Gabryszak said the Police Department is the town's largest department with the biggest budget, and the Town Board members felt the consultants should start where the needs are greatest.
