BISONS SQUANDER LEAD, FALL TO ROYALS

The Buffalo Bisons blew a four-run lead and lost to the Omaha Royals, 9-6, Thursday afternoon, dropping their spring record to 3-6-2.

Jamie Taylor had a two-run home run in the second inning, Rod McCall added a solo shot in the fifth and starter Casey Whitten pitched four scoreless innings to help Buffalo build a 5-1 lead. However, Omaha rallied with a five-run eighth to take a 7-5 lead. The Royals added two insurance runs in the ninth.

Taylor also had a double, single, two RBIs and scored twice in four at-bats for the Herd. Reliever Maximo De La Rosa (0-1), who gave up seven earned runs in two innings, took the loss.

Buffalo travels to Lakeland today to play the Toledo Mud Hens at 1 p.m.
