The Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 10570 Bergtold Road, Clarence, is looking for men and women who like to "putter."

"What we really need are several people who enjoy doing little jobs such as touch-up painting, small plaster repairs and fixing furniture nicks," said Dennis Krolczyk, plant operations director.

Volunteers will receive a free meal and the appreciation of the staff and residents. Call Valerie Sonnenfeld, volunteer coordinator, at 759-6985, Ext. 217.

The Erie Country SPCA, Tonawanda and Angola shelters, needs volunteers to help with public relations and special events throughout the year. There are family events as well as SPCA appearances at community activities. Volunteers are welcome to choose their level of commitment. For information, call Gina Browning Rummel, director of public relations, at 875-1361. Volunteers are needed by the Lothlorien Therapeutic Riding Center, 15 Reiter Road, East Aurora. The center works with more than 400 physically, mentally and emotionally disabled riders.

Prospective volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Experiences with horses or people with disabilities is not a prerequisite. Volunteers also are being sought for office, barn and yard work. Call 655-1335.

The L.K. Painter Community Center, 2355 Main St., Collins, needs volunteers to work in the office. Interested individuals are asked to call 532-2006.
