TEEN SUSPECTS SOUGHT IN GROCERY-STORE HOLDUP

State police are looking for two men who robbed a grocery store in this Orleans County town Tuesday night.

The robbery occurred at about 7:45 p.m. at Schmitt's Grocery Store at the intersection of Route 63 and Ridge Road. A clerk told police that one of the two robbers, who appeared to be in their late teens, pretended he wanted to buy something before displaying a pistol and demanding cash from the register.

The clerk surrendered about $160, police said.

Neither robber was wearing a mask, police said. Both were white, with one man standing about 6 feet tall and the other about 5 feet 5 inches.

The taller man had very blond hair and a medium build, while the shorter one had a small build and very short dark brown or black hair. Both wore baseball-type caps.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Troop A in Batavia. Police noted the same store had been robbed in a similar manner less than a month ago.
