The Cheektowaga Youth and Recreational Services Department has begun accepting registrations for its summer day camp programs.
Camp brochures are available at Cheektowaga's branch libraries, community centers and the Youth and Recreation
Three day camps will be operated in the Alexander Community Center, 275 Alexander Ave., under the direction of Deborah Ann Fleetwood.
The Alexander camps run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from July 5 to Aug. 11. There are extended days available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for working parents, and bus transportation is provided for the
Alexander day camps.
Camp Crabapple is open to developmentally disabled youth, ages 5 to 21. Camp JI-IK-DO-WAH-GAH serves learning disabled youths, aged 5 to 16. Camp Flamingo is for the general youth population,
ages 5 to 12.
A fourth day camp will also be run out of the Dartwood Community Center for children between the ages of 5 and 12. The Dartwood Variety-Pak Camp will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from July 10 to Aug. 25. There are extended days available for working parents, but there is no bus transportation available to the Dartwood site.
Details on fees, extended days and other information are included in the camp brochure. Cheektowaga residents have first priority on registration.
