The votes are in, and the new color that will melt in your mouth, not in your hands is . . . blue!
The azure M&M was unveiled with great pomp on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building on Wednesday as M&M-Mars announced the results of a two-month campaign to choose a new color.
Blue easily won the color contest, taking 54 percent of the more than 10 million votes cast to beat out pink and purple.
Blue will replace tan in bags of plain M&M's; it will replace orange in almond and peanut butter M&M's and will be added to peanut M&M's without displacing a color.
