Joseph Elia, 70, who ran the former La Cantina Pizzeria on Amherst Street, died March 16, 1995, in Las Vegas, where he had lived for the past 23 years.
The Buffalo native was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. During World War II, he served in the Pacific aboard the Navy destroyer Monsoon.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary D'Agostino, and a brother, Anthony.
He was buried in Palm Mortuary Memorial Park, Henderson, Nev.
