A 15th Street youth was arrested at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old girl and held her prisoner in her home for 90 minutes, police said.
Jerome Drake, 18, of 271 15th was charged with third-degree assault, unlawful imprisonment, unlicensed operation, having improper license plates, failure to signal for a turn and driving an uninspected vehicle by Officers Ted Weed, John Galie and Walt Nichols, police said.
Drake is accused of going to the University Court apartment of LaToya L. Palmer, arguing with her and choking her until she passed out, police said. he also allegedly slammed her head against a wall and would not let her leave the apartment or call police for 1 1/2 hours, police said. Officer Nichols found him in the 200 block of 15th Street after he fled Miss Palmer's apartment.
