CHRYSLER PLANT FACING FRIDAY STRIKE

Workers at Chrysler Corp.'s transmission factory are threatening a strike Friday that could quickly force the company to shut down its car and truck assembly plants.

The 5,700 hourly workers at the Kokomo plant build nearly all the automatic transmissions Chrysler puts in its vehicles. Close to 90 percent of the cars and trucks it sells are equipped with automatics.
