BOOM REMOVAL SIDETRACKED

A State Power Authority tugboat and barge begin work Wednesday to remove the ice boom from the Niagara River. Crews came ashore early, however, when the tug developed engine problems. The removal effort is expected to resume later this week after repairs to the tug. Crews are aiming to open sections of the boom, but none was opened Wednesday.
