2 SUFFER MINOR INJURIES IN SCHOOL BUS-TRUCK CRASH

Two persons suffered minor injuries when a dump truck loaded with gravel skidded into a school bus Wednesday morning in the Town of Marilla, Erie County sheriff's deputies said.

A bus carrying about 10 students from the Alden School District was westbound on Clinton Street when its driver, Elizabeth Schnellinger, 52, of Alden, slowed down to make a left turn onto Two Road Road, deputies said. A 10-wheel dump truck, also heading west, apparently attempted to pass the bus and its brakes locked, and it tipped onto its side. The rear of the truck hit the passenger area of the bus, causing a gash
below the seat line.

Truck driver Kevin J. Kelly, 30, of Borden Road, Depew, was treated in Mercy Hospital for minor injuries and released, deputies said. One child, who was not identified, was treated and released from the same hospital.
