Drivers at Buffalo Newspress Inc. have selected the Teamsters union, Local 375 to represent them.
The employees, who drive tractor trailers and other trucks, decided to join the union by a vote of 6 to 4. Eleven people were eligible to cast ballots in the election, which was supervised by the Buffalo regional office of the National Labor Relations Board.
Buffalo Newspress specializes in printing business journals, school newspapers and color newspaper inserts at its plant on Broadway in Buffalo. It is owned by a group of local investors, headed by company president Michael Kibler.
Union Local 375 represents about 1,500 workers in the Buffalo area.
