POSTER CONTEST TARGETS SAFETY WHILE CYCLING

The Cheektowaga Police Department's bicycle patrol unit, in cooperation with Bert's Bikes and Sports, is sponsoring a bicycle safety poster contest for Cheektowaga residents or any student between the ages of 11 and 18 attending Cheektowaga schools.

Posters may be submitted to the front desk at Cheektowaga police headquarters at 3223 Union Road or to a participating school office.

The contest rules are as follows:

Participants may submit a poster illustrating a bicycle safety idea. Any slogan or wording on the poster must be original.

The poster should be no larger than 2-by-3-feet. Illustrations can be submitted on paper, cardboard, poster board or similar material using magic markers, paints, crayons or
pencils.

All entries must have the person's name, address, telephone number, age, grade and school clearly printed on the back of the poster.

Posters must be submitted by May 15. Prizes will be awarded by June 1. Winners will be
notified by telephone.

Three prizes will be awarded in each age group, the 11 to 14-year-olds and 15 to 18-year-olds.

The grand prize in each age group is a bicycle from Bert's Bikes and Sports. The second and third prizes are $50 and $25 gift certificates from Bert's.
