Burial will be Friday in Forest Lawn for Joseph N. Hochwarter, 83, a former Buffalonian who was transferred to Vancouver, Wash., in 1951 in the midst of a 47-year career with FMC Corp.
Funeral services will be held in Vancouver on Thursday. Hochwarter died Sunday (March 26, 1995) in Vancouver.
A Buffalo native, he served with the U.S. Army in World War II as a radar repairman who rose to the rank of staff sergeant. Hochwarter started with FMC Corp. in 1930, working with the company for 21 years in the Buffalo area before being transferred to Vancouver. He retired in 1977 as a maintenance supervisor.
Surviving are his wife, Bettie G. of Vancouver; a stepson, Gregory Bissell of Woodland, Wash.; and a sister, Teresa McAllister of Seminole, Fla.
