Services for Evelyn McNeair Frazier, an organizing member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church, 665 Michigan Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
Mrs. Frazier, 99, died Thursday (March 23, 1995) in her Buffalo home.
The former Evelyn Adams was born in Columbus, Ga. After the death of her parents, she moved to Alabama, where she was raised by her aunt. She married Anderson McNeair Jr. and moved to Buffalo in 1929.
An organizing member of Pilgrim Church, she was a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years, and several of her pupils later became ministers. She held the title Teacher of Teachers until her death. She was the teacher of the Missionary Society from its inception until advanced age prevented her from fulfilling her duties.
Mrs. Frazier was the organizer of the White Rose Club and chairwoman of the funeral committee.
She also was married to Lucius Hood and William Frazier.
Survivors include two sons, James and Clarence McNeair; a sister, Hattie Guice of Detroit; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
