Worried about keeping the children busy during Easter recess? The Cheektowaga Youth and Recreational Services Department may have the answer.

The department is conducting a special Easter recess program called "Exploring the Rainforest" for children in kindergarten through second grade.

The program will run in two, three-hour sessions Monday through Friday the week of April 17 in the Alexander Community Center, 275 Alexander St., Cheektowaga. A morning session from 9 a.m. to noon or an afternoon session from 1 to 4 p.m. will be offered daily.

The children will be kept creatively busy while learning about man's impact on the rain forests of the world. The group will also travel on April 18 to the Buffalo Zoo for a special program on the rain forest.

The cost of the program is $31 for the first resident child and $26 for additional children from the same family. Non-residents may participate for $45 for the first child and $39 for additional children.

The deadline to register is Monday. Applications forms are available at the Youth and Recreation office in the Alexander Center or at the local
Cheektowaga libraries.
