CASSADAGA RESIDENTS OK PURCHASE OF SCHOOL BUSES

Residents of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a $161,644 proposition for the purchase of three 65-passenger school buses. The vote was 157-24.

School Superintendent Kenneth Connolly said state aid is expected to cover 90 percent of the cost of the buses and the tax rate is not expected to be affected.

The district, which covers 160 square miles, is one of the largest in area in the state.
