Even after years of successful acting, black actors are still limited in the roles they are offered on television, says actor Tim Reid.

"I'm still stereotyped," said Reid, who plays the single father of twins in the ABC sitcom "Sister, Sister."

Reid, 50, said his success with roles in "WKRP in Cincinnati" and "Simon & Simon" has helped him overcome roadblocks set up by TV executives.

"Now I have a little more to do with my destiny," Reid said Saturday at a banquet to raise scholarship money for minority students in West Tennessee.
