The North Tonawanda Common Council decided Monday to increase a bond issue authorization for purchasing three recycling trucks to $180,000 from $135,000.

Public Works Department Superintendent Gary J. Franklin told the Council that a Rochester supplier of the trucks quoted an original price of $42,800 per truck, but provided a photo of the wrong vehicle.

Based on the photo, Franklin recommended the $135,000 bond issue to the Council. He informed the Council Monday night of the supplier's error and the actual price of $60,000 per truck.

Council members decided to increase the bond authorization to purchase three trucks to implement a curbside solid-waste recycling program.
