Services for Mattie Mae Robbins, 61, a former beauty parlor operator who later became a neighborhood counselor, will be held at noon Wednesday in Prom-iseland Missionary Baptist Church, 227 High St.
Burial will be in Ridge Lawn Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mrs. Robbins died Friday (March 24, 1995) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Chester, S.C., Mrs. Robbins moved to Buffalo in 1953. She opened Mattie's Beauty Parlor in 1968 and operated it for 15 years. She then became a counselor for the Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers.
She was an active member of Promiseland Missionary Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Aminah Shakur of Charlotte, N.C., and Crystal; a son, Donald of Albany; two sisters, Crystal Hughes of Philadelphia and Grace Lee; and 10 grandchildren.[cllsn]
