Tonawanda High School students will have the chance to talk face-to-face with health care professionals Wednesday during the first health career fair to be held at the high school.
Approximately 33 careers in the health field will be represented by local hospitals, doctor and dental offices. DeGraff Hospital in North Tonawanda is the largest participant and will send 16 employees, including a physical therapist, gerontologist, pharmacist, medical technologist, medical secretary, nurse's aide, occupational therapist, respiratory therapist, fitness instructor, dietitian, unit clerk, nursing supervisor and a
Several Tonawanda graduates enrolled in occupational therapy and pharmacy programs at local universities will also be on hand to answer questions.
Kathleen Tassy, a health teacher who organized the career fair, said the fair will show students the many other health careers possible in addition to medicine and nursing.
