May 16 has been set for the opening of a trial in Cattaraugus County Court for Kirby R. Wilcox Sr. of Franklinville, who is accused of attempting to murder his son and a friend of his son's last year in Ischua.
Wilcox, 38, has pleaded innocent to nine charges, including second-degree attempted murder of his son, Kirby R. Jr., and Alex R. Wolf at the mobile home of his estranged wife, Evelyn. He allegedly forced his way into the mobile home May 14 and fired four rounds from a 12-gauge shotgun at Mrs. Wilcox and the two men. None of the shots hit anyone.
Wilcox also is charged with reckless endangerment, burglary and criminal use of a weapon. He is being held in the county jail after not posting $75,000 bail.
