JAMESTOWN -- Comedian Paula Poundstone will headline the Fifth Annual Lucille Ball Festival of New Comedy from May 26-28.
The Reg Lenna Civic Center performance also includes a gala reception. Tickets are on sale, according to Phillip Morris, executive director of the Arts Council for Chautauqua County.
Morris calls Poundstone, whose backstage schtick was a highlight of the 1993 Emmy Awards telecast, "fresh and witty."
She also performed on the ABC special "A Gala for the President at Ford's Theater" in Washington and headlined the White House Correspondents dinner in May 1992.
The festival also features an auction of Lucille Ball memorabilia, late-night comedy in the Lucille Ball Little Theater, Lucy Town tours and street entertainment by such groups as Open Hand Circus and Babalu Swing Time Band.
A special festival package, the LucyPass, will be available for $50.To reserve tickets or for more information, contact the Reg Lenna Civic Center box office, which is open Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Fridays.
