HENRY A. JAWORSKI, OPERATED HANK'S GRILL

A Mass of Christian Burial for Henry A. Jaworski, longtime operator of Hank's Grill at Perry and Mississippi streets, was offered today in St. Valentine's Catholic Church.

Prayers were said in James W. Cannan Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Cheektowaga.

Jaworski, 80, of Buffalo, died Saturday (March 25, 1995) in Mercy Hospital.

He ran the restaurant and tavern for 29 years. He also was a City of Buffalo recreation instructor for 15 years, receiving many community-service awards.

Jaworski was active in baseball and softball in the Old First Ward during the 1930s.

A decorated veteran of World War II, he saw action as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army's 33rd Infantry Division in the Asia, New Guinea, Morotai and Luzon campaigns.

Jaworski was a member of Adam Plewacki Post 799, American Legion.[crdnl]
