A program to develop awareness and a pastoral response to domestic violence for residents of Niagara and Orleans counties will be held from 7 to 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2499 Independence Ave.
Presenters will include Lauri Watson of the Lockport YWCA, a counselor for victims of domestic violence; Nancy Wangler, director of the Passage Program at Family and Children's Services of Niagara Inc.; Sister Margaret Mary Considine of the Catholic Workers Safe House in Niagara Falls; Msgr. Robert Mack, administrator of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish of Niagara Falls; and Sister Mary Anne Weldon, director of parish-based social services for Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Buffalo.
The program will be sponsored by the Domestic Violence Awareness Task Force of the Diocese of Buffalo. A free-will offering of $5 per person will be accepted at the door.
