A badly decomposed body found Sunday in Rockland County might be that of another victim of paroled killer Reginald McFadden, authorities said.
McFadden is awaiting trial on charges of raping a 55-year-old South Nyack woman Sept. 20 and assaulting and killing an elderly Long Island woman Sept. 27.
Rockland County District Attorney Kenneth Gribetz said an anonymous tip to state police in Newburgh led to the discovery of the body near the Garden State Parkway Extension of the Thruway.
On March 11, the decomposed body of Robert Silk, 42, a computer programmer from Elmont, L.I., was found within a few miles of the site.
A grand jury is hearing evidence against McFadden in that case, Gribetz said.
McFadden, 41, was released July 7 from a Pennsylvania prison by then-Gov. Robert Casey.
McFadden convinced authorities that he had been rehabilitated after serving 24 years of a life sentence for the 1969 murder of a 60-year-old woman.
