WOMEN RETRACE TRAIL THAT LED TO FAMILY TREES

Three women who traced their roots in Eastern Europe last year will speak to Buffalo Chapter, Hadassah, after a bagel brunch today at 10 a.m. in Jewish Community Center's Benderson Building.

University at Buffalo faculty members Claire Kahane, associate professor of English; Isabel Marcus, associate dean of the law school, and Elizabeth Lapovsky Kennedy, American and women's studies professor, will discuss their experiences looking for family shtetles (small Jewish communities) in Poland, Lithuania, Byelorussia and the Ukraine.

The women were in Europe on a faculty exchange with Jagiellonia University in Krakow.
