Add Joseph Bruno's son-in-law to the list of the Republican leader's relatives who have landed state jobs.
Richard Himes, who's married to the Senate majority leader's daughter Katherine, has landed a $41,600-a-year job as an assistant to the commissioner of the state Office of General Services, the Times-Union of Albany reported Saturday.
Himes is at least the fourth member of Bruno's immediate family to go on the state payroll. A son, a daughter and a brother of the Rensselaer County Republican also have been hired by the administration of Republican Gov. Pataki.
Thom Tubbs, Office of General Services spokesman, told the newspaper that Himes' father-in-law, a key Pataki ally, played no role in the hire.
"He was interviewed and hired just like anybody else," Tubbs said.
