Raymond J. "Sonny" Bach, 82, a longtime City of Tonawanda worker, died Friday (March 24, 1995) in Veterans Hospital following a brief illness.
A City of Tonawanda native, Bach retired in 1975 after working for more than 35 years for the city Water Department.
An army veteran, he served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was a 50-year member of Tonawanda's American Legion Post 264.
Bach also was a member of Tonawanda Masonic Lodge 247, the Tonawanda Men's Retirement Club and a life member of the Eldredge Club. He was a former umpire for Tonawanda Little League baseball.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth E. Killian; a son, Jay of Northfield, Ill.; a daughter, Nancy R. Holdaway of Grand Island; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. April 15 in Salem United Church of Christ, Main and Morgan Streets, City of Tonawanda.
