Services for Edmund C. "Huck" Messer, 78, of Swann Road, a stationary engineer at Occidental Chemical and a fruit and grape farmer, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Dickersonville United Methodist Church, 2208 Ridge Road. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.

He died Friday (March 24, 1995) in Buffalo General Hospital.

He was born in Albany and lived in Mechanicsville before moving to Ransomville in 1951.

While living in Mechanicsville he worked for 11 years as a conductor for the Boston & Maine Railroad. In this area he worked for Occidental Chemical Corp. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1980. He also operated a fruit and grape farm for 28 years, until 1978, with his late brother-in-law, Bruce Parker.

He was a member of Dickersonville United Methodist Church and Ransomville Masonic Lodge 551, a member of the Occidental 25-Year Retirement Club and a member of Youngstown Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife, the former Helen C. "Honey" Page; a daughter, Linda Lauzonis of Youngstown; two sisters, Alice Gargano of Stillwater and Eleanor Phinney of Mechanicsville; a brother, Joseph of Malta; and four grandchildren. [n/string]
