Leonard A. Mack, 75, of the City of Tonawanda, a retired paid member of the North Tonawanda Fire Department, died Thursday (March 23, 1995) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda.
Mack, a native of Toledo, Ohio, and a resident of the Tonawandas for 55 years, served with the North Tonawanda Fire Department for 35 years. He joined the department in 1950 and was appointed captain in 1962. He was appointed assistant chief in 1972 and retired in 1985.
Mack was an Army veteran of World War II and served in Europe. He was a member of Tonawandas Post 264, American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans. He also was a member of Rescue Volunteer Fire Company, North Tonawanda Professional Firefighters Union Local 1333 and the National Carvers Club.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn H.; two daughters, Iris A. Watson of Sebeka, Minn., and Denise M. Brennan of Amherst; and a son, Daniel L. of the City of Tonawanda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Edmund's Catholic Church, 530 Ellicott Creek Road, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
