FULL LIBRARY BOARD TO LOOK FOR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Choosing a new executive director for the Buffalo and Erie County Library system is such an important task that the board of trustees decided Thursday not to delegate the job to a smaller search committee.

The board plans to hold what could be a marathon meeting Thursday to determine a job description, a proposed salary and the impact of a management study on the position held by Donald H. Cloudsley, who is retiring.

"We really haven't discussed which direction the library is going to go in," said Annette A. Juncewicz, a trustee.

She said the increased use of computer technology and the development of special attractions such as the Mark Twain Room indicate that the new director should have skills in computer technology and marketing.
