Eve W. Krohn, 90, co-founder of Murphy Paper Co., died Thursday (March 23, 1995) in Orchard Park Health Care Facility.
Her husband of 65 years, George C., 91, died Monday (March 20, 1995) in the facility.
Before moving to Orchard Park, the couple lived on Lake Shore Road in Wanakah for nearly 30 years.
The former Eve Happ was a graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business Institute. She and her husband founded Murphy Paper Co., a wholesale paper business, in Lackawanna in 1933. She was secretary-treasurer of the company.
At a time when few mothers worked, Mrs. Krohn successfully combined home and career. She worked until her retirement in 1985, at age 80. The Krohns also owned and operated Paramount Restaurant Supply.
She was active in the St. Thomas Aquinas Altar and Rosary Society, the Canisius High School Mothers' Club and activities at St. Mary of the Lake Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy A. Stock of Orchard Park; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
